Privacy Policy — Image Download from Web

Image Download from Web ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that scans the webpage you are currently viewing for images and lets you preview and download them. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and, more importantly, what it does not do with it.

Data collection

The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any user data with any server, company, or third party. It has no backend, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

What the extension accesses locally

• Page content: When you open the extension's side panel, the content script reads the current page's DOM to find image elements, CSS background images, and meta tags. This happens entirely inside your browser and is never sent anywhere.
• Downloads: When you choose to download an image, the extension uses Chrome's built-in Downloads API to save the file to your computer's Downloads folder.
• Local preferences: Your theme (dark/light) and filter/sort settings are saved locally using Chrome's storage API (chrome.storage.local) so they persist between sessions. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted.

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions, used only for the purposes described above: activeTab, tabs, scripting, downloads, storage, webNavigation, sidePanel, and host access to all URLs (needed so the extension can scan and download images from whichever website you are actively viewing).

Third parties

The extension does not integrate with, or send data to, any third-party service, advertising network, or analytics provider.

Children's privacy

The extension does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
